Sterling silver pendant 1" diameter, shown here with a 3mm Amethyst. Our very first cast piece from 1982. Before that we were cutting out all the the components:the deer, the crescent and soldering everything on the round disc.
SYMBOLISM AND MEANING OF THE DEER
The deer gazes in awe at the nighttime sky, the infinite and fathomless mystery that is nature.
The deer with antlers represents the Horned God,a motif found in many ancient cultures.The Horned God,like the Green Man, is a symbol of the sacrifice of life force back to the earth and thereby into the community. it is also the symbol of the shaman,the healer who places her/his individual life at the service of the whole.
